How To Complete Skeleton Camp Constellation Puzzles In Sea Of Thieves
The world of Sea of Thieves continues to evolve, with the power-hungry Captain Flameheart making a grand return to the seas with his Burning Blade warship and a host of Skeleton Camps. Built by Obsidian Skeletons loyal to the titular pirate villain, these Skeleton Camps lead to Ancient Temples hidden below the surface and valuable artifacts. Whether you're eager to let the flame burn or hope to foil Flameheart's grand plans, you'll likely want to know where to find all Skeleton Camp locations in Sea of Thieves so you can pay them a visit for some valuable rewards.
Once you get to a Skeleton Camp, you may also want to know how to solve their constellation puzzles, which can be tricky to navigate, especially when tracing constellations with the Stargazer. There are also a few choices connected to the Orb of Secrets hidden within, and whether to complete the optional constellation puzzles for extra profit.

Sea of Thieves releases patch notes for the Season 13 update, offering a detailed overview of the new features and improvements.
All Skeleton Camp Locations In Sea Of Thieves
There are six Skeleton Camps located in the following map regions in Sea of Thieves as follows:
The Shores of Plenty:
- Lagoon of Whispers (coordinates D-12)
- Picaroon Palms (I-4)
The Ancient Isles:
- Barnacle Cay (O-15)
- Lookout Point (I-20)
The Wilds:
- Blind Man's Lagoon (N-6)
- Shiver Retreat (Q-11)
However, it's worth noting that you won't find any Skeleton Camps in the Devil's Roar. If you check the map table, you'll see that each Skeleton Camp location has a Captain Flameheart symbol marked next to it, indicating the presence of the Skeleton Camps as pictured below. You can also spot them on the horizon by their burning beacons, such as when using your spyglass.
To enter a Skeleton Camp, light the beacons to open the gate, which is usually found towards the base of each tower. Head inside and pull the lever on the wall within to descend the circular platform into the Ancient Temple below. Inside, you'll have to complete a Constellation Puzzle to open the door of the locked Crypt Vault, containing the Orb of Secrets on a ritual table.

How To Complete Skeleton Camp Constellation Puzzles In Sea Of Thieves
Each Skeleton Camp contains a Constellation Puzzle of the Ancients that involves matching up three constellation symbols on the three pillars to those on a night sky ceiling. Minus the Temple, it's a similar type of puzzle to the stargazing puzzle in Sea of Thieves' Adventure 11. While each Camp contains the same type of puzzle, the symbols are randomized each time and will be different when you complete the puzzle in each location. To complete the Constellation Puzzle, you need to complete the following steps:
1. Light the fire in front of the Stargazer to activate the puzzle, causing three symbols to appear on each pillar by the Crypt Vault door. Check the three pillars to see what constellations you need to match up.
2. Position the Stargazer upwards so that the wide lens is facing toward the middle of the night sky ceiling encircling the room. Use the nearby helm to turn the large Stargazer lens until it highlights the constellation symbol you want, such as the butterfly constellation if one of the pillar symbols is a butterfly.
3. Use the small lens on the Stargazer to trace all the points of the constellation symbol. If you are using a controller, press and hold the right trigger to do this or the left mouse button for the PC. You can only use stars in the constellation's pattern and must trace them all in one attempt, otherwise, it resets. To make this process easier, it's a good idea to use the image on the pillars below as a guide for which stars to trace. Once you've traced all the constellation points correctly, you'll hear a high-pitched music note and the symbol also lights up on the corresponding pillar and in the sky.
4. Repeat this process for all three symbols on the pillar to successfully complete the constellation puzzle. Tracing out each symbol can be tricky at first, but gets easier the more you complete them. The video below details how to line up one of the constellations in the puzzle as an example:
Once you've successfully traced all three symbols, the Crypt Vault will open (but after a short fight if you don't have the Burning Blade). Doing so also unlocks the Temple of the Fair Panther commendation.
Obtain The Orb Of Secrets Or Put A Stop To The Ritual
If you're currently pledged to the Burning Blade, completing the constellation puzzle unlocks the large stone door immediately, where you can find the Orb of Secrets. Light the four beacons on the tomb table to complete the ritual and increase the value stored within the ship.
However, if you're looking to stop Flameheart or don't have the Burning Blade, you must defeat several waves of Obsidian Skeletons before the door opens. This includes a final wave fighting the Raider of Secrets. Once inside, you can then decide whether to grab the Orb marked 'Put an end to the Ritual!' to stand against Flameheart or light the four beacons to get the Orb of Secrets. Whatever side you pick, there are also some nice piles of gold to grab nearby.
Optional Constellation Puzzles For Extra Gold
For extra gold, there are also two optional constellation puzzles to complete to open up two smaller treasure vaults located on each side of the Ancient Temple. You can open these by following the same steps outlined above to open up a couple of smaller vaults containing more piles of gold. Completing extra constellation puzzles also nets you the Grade I: Starry Secrets Commendation.
What To Do With The Orb Of Secrets
If you're sailing the Burning Blade, the Orb of Secrets is absorbed into the ship to gain more Tribute, but you still want to grab it so you can cash it into Captain Flameheart at the Reaper's Hideout once you've increased its value further. If you complete the puzzle without the Burning Blade, you can still grab the Orb of Secrets and sell it to the Servant of the Flame at Reaper's Hideout for a profitable 30,000 Gold. Alternatively, if you seek to oppose Captain Flameheart, you can take the Orb and sell it to one of the Trading Companies at any Sea of Thieves outpost.
